In the XVI century by decree of Ivan the Terrible and under his personal seal the first tavern in Russia was opened on Baltschug Street opposite the Moscow Kremlin.

Lerning the history of Russian vodka for century after century the technology used more than 500 years ago to turn bread wine into the first fragrant vodkas that only the noble and rich people could afford was restored. Rye bread wine was filtered through sand and birch charcoal and then infused with anise and aromatic herbs, it was additionally distilled in a special vodka cube.

The purest malt alcohol is used as the basis for Balchug vodka, pre-filtered in a coal column and then distilled in a real authentic vodka alembic with the addition of aromatic herbs. Thus the taste of the original Russian vodka is completely recreated with a new level of purity of modern technologies.

The Balchug vodka series was named by Forbes the best Russian vodka of 2021 and received the title of The Vodka Masters at the prestigious alcoholic beverage competition The Spirit Masters 2021.
